University of London  -  EXTERNAL PROGRAMME

MBA and Postgraduate Diploma in International Management

Examinations & Assignments

Examinations are offered twice a year, in May and October, and are held in examination centres both in the UK and worldwide.

All core and elective courses (except 'Business research methods' and the research project) are assessed by one unseen, three-hour written examination and a written assignment. The final mark for each course is based on both papers, with 80% of the mark based on your exam results.

The Plenary Group Project is a compulsory part of the MBA course, comprising 10% of the total mark for the MBA. The Group project will be assessed by two group presentations and one written report (group).

Your research project will consist of a 12,000-word report, excluding bibliographies, appendices and the project statement or summary.

Effective January 2003 the level of pass required for both the Postgraduate Diploma and the MBA examinations is 50%.

There is no automatic progression between Postgraduate Diploma and MBA. Students who successfully complete the Diploma and achieve marks of 50% for each course, may be invited by the Board of Examiners to progress to the elective courses and research course and, if successful in those, will be awarded the MBA in International Management.

Students cannot be awarded both the Postgraduate Diploma and the MBA.
